Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company is unique – we live in the communities we serve. And our employees give back to their communities in big ways. Join us in celebrating one of SFBCIC’s own for her outstanding contributions to those in need.
Helping Others is What She Does Best
Margo Burnside was recently recognized by Goodwill Industries of Mississippi at the annual Goodwill Salute Dinner. The community nominates and selects honorees, chosen for their commitment to the Goodwill mission.
Most importantly, this event supports the services Goodwill provides to their employee associates and clients. These services reinforce their transition to becoming more independent and productive citizens.
Goodwill’s mission is to “enhance people’s dignity and quality of life by strengthening their communities, eliminating their barriers to opportunity, and helping them reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.”
Margo, an IT Business Services Analyst Senior, is a past president and vice-president, membership chair, and publicity chair. Additional roles include serving as the Goodwill Salute chair from 2015-2019. She is Goodwill’s “Volunteer Mission Leader of the Year” for 2018.
In addition to her commitment to Goodwill, Margo volunteers at First United Methodist in Canton. She is an active member of the sanctuary choir, teaches Sunday School and organizes Wednesday evening children’s activities.
Similarly, she helps church youth with a fundraiser at the Canton Flea Market, selling chicken dinners. When not volunteering, Margo enjoys gardening, reading, running and spending time with her family.
